My Approach
All my classes are open to all levels. I welcome beginners and anyone who has never tried yoga before as well as those with an established practice.
I like to base my classes around a theme, or specific physical or philosophical enquiry, using this theme to develop a flow that builds throughout the session through a combination of repetition and variation of flow.
Yoga
Vinyasa Flow classes start with a warm up of the major joints of the body, building to more dynamic, flowing movement before coming back to the ground to close. These classes are perfect for those looking for a a practice that incorporates breath, movement and mindfulness.
Daoist Flow
I also teach Daoist Flow. This Vinyasa Flow based practice incorporates elements of Qigong, somatics and natural movement. The belief that everything in the universe is interconnected and part of a larger whole, is a principle shared by both Daoist and Yoga traditions. Daoist flow weaves the circular and spiralling movements of Qigong into Vinyasa yoga. Daoist Flow is perfect for those looking for a fluid and playful approach to their yoga practice.
Qigong
Qigong is a form of energy cultivation. It is a practice that exercises the body, regulates the breath, and is calming the heart and mind. Classes include a blend of active and dynamic movements, breathing, visualisation and meditation techniques aimed at cultivating healthy qi flow through the body’s organs and energy pathways. The focus is on fluid movement and the breath and is fantastic for building strength, improving posture and calming the nervous system.
Explore a One-to-One with me
Sometimes it can be really helpful to have the opportunity to explore things that are specific to us.
I offer one-to-one classes that give students the opportunity to deepen their practice, explore specific areas of interest and provide opportunities to go deeper into topics and practices that may not often be covered as part of a group.
“I felt amazing after my sessions with Hayley.”

No! Yoga can be incredibly helpful in building and regaining flexibility, but being flexible to start with is not a requirement. When I first started practicing yoga, I could not touch my toes, or sit comfortably cross legged - these things have developed over time.
-
Yes. It is important that you let me know that you are pregnant (this can be done confidentially) so that I can offer adaptations to poses that ensure that you stay safe and feel comfortable.

Please wear something comfortable that you can move easily in. Many people wear leggings, jogging bottoms or shorts. You will be moving around in many directions, so its best to avoid anything restrictive. We practice yoga with bare feet, so you you will need to take your shoes and socks off at the beginning of the class.
-
No equipment is needed for Qigong. Qigong is a standing practice that does involve moving limbs in many directions, so its best to wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. You have the option to keep shoes and socks on - flat footwear with flexible soles are a great option.
-
You must be over 16 to participate in classes with me.
